Howdy, friends! Happy Sunday to you. I’m so excited that LOVE UNLEASHED has finally released!!! I’ll add a link below, but first, here’s another snippet from LU!
Continuing from where we left off… (Kent’s trying to step in and help Hannah with her flat tire in the town hall parking lot)
She blew at a wayward curl that’d slipped from the bun on her head, then shot him a quelling look. “What are you doing?”
“I’m-I was going to help you. The sun’s about to go down and—”
“No. Absolutely not. I don’t need or want your help.” She opened the rear door and tugged a blanket off the backseat, throwing it to the ground.
He ran a hand through his hair, his fist clenching. “You’re being completely irrational,” he said, and she knew he wasn’t only referring to her refusal for assistance. “Let me help. I’ve done this a thousand times.”
***End of WWW post, but here’s a bit more!***
She wanted to tell him where he could shove his chauvinistic assumptions about her reason and her mechanical abilities. Guys lived for these types of situations, where they could exert their masculinity and beat their chests and come swooping in to save the damsel in distress. She was nobody’s damsel. And a silly flat tire was no cause for distress, but she didn’t feel the need to explain that to him. She let her actions do the talking for her.
Bunching up the fabric of her skirt, she knelt down, then positioned the jack. As she raised the car, she eyeballed the tire. Talk about a metaphor for her life. She’d been so buoyant and hopeful upon entering the meeting, and then Kent came along and burst her happy bubble, like the bubble-bursting buffoon that he was.
Here’s the blurb:
Hannah Barker has it all. A booming business, a fabulous group of girlfriends, and a loving and devoted housemate…with floppy ears and a wet nose. She doesn’t have time for romance. Or so she says.
Kent Clarkson is a single father on a mission to keep his daughter safe. But when the blonde bombshell he’s been butting heads with all summer proposes opening a dog park, Kent—who’s been once bitten and more than twice shy—goes on the offensive. Soon, it’s all-out war.
The whole town knows the chemistry between Hannah and Kent is off the leash, but can these two set aside their differences long enough to fall in love?

She’s certainly one independent woman. I do believe I’d have let him help me, but since I’ve never changed a tire in my life (and it sounds like she has) I come from a very different viewpoint. LOL I wonder if he’ll stick around or storm off? Great snippet! Tweeted.
Thanks, Jenna! I’m totally with you. Screw pride; I’m getting help, damn it! 😀
Oh my, stubborn! lol. I understand her. My mom used to tell me to not cut off my nose to spite my face. Age has made me willing to accept kindness for what it is, though. 😉
Hee! Stubborn as the dickens. But she’ll come around…eventually. 😉 Thanks, Teresa!
Congratulations on the release of the book! Yay! Enjoyed the snippet…
Thanks again, Veronica! I very much appreciate the support! 🙂
LOL – bubble bursting buffoon.

Sorry I am so late getting here.
😀 I liked that line, too. You’re never late. The party doesn’t stop ’round here!
Congratulations on the release of your book. It sounds quite interesting. The excerpt really drew me in and made me want to know more.
Thanks, Elaine! Glad to hear that! 🙂
Congrats on your release! Another fantastic snippet!
