Hey, hi, hello! Welcome to my new blog, fellow Warriors! Since this is a fresh start for me, I’ll be kicking things off with some snippets from my newest story, Steeped in Love. It’s currently in the hands of several publishers and will hopefully find a home soon! I’ll share the blurb after the excerpt, which starts now!
Coffee creamed and stirred, laptop fired up, and knuckles cracked, Ethan Holtz took a deep breath and waited for inspiration to strike.
And waited.
And waited.
He swigged some coffee, hoping a sudden jolt of caffeine might awaken the creative juices.
Nope. Although, it was a particularly good cup of joe this morning. Not wanting to let the discovery go unappreciated, he raised his mug in salute to Gwyneth, the talented barista. At least someone around here should be appreciated for their work.
She smiled as she whirled past him, her arms loaded with empty mugs and crumb-filled plates, remnants of delicious pastries that once were. Lord, he wanted a cherry danish, but not yet–not until he cranked out at least the first thousand words.
As promised, here’s the blurb:
Addie Mitchell is a pie-on-the-fly entrepreneur who’s finally ready to settle down in the big, empty house her late great-aunt Edna left to her. Frustrated with her lack of success in romance, Addie turns to another gift her great-aunt passed on to her—the art of reading tea leaves—to aid her in her search for the ideal mate.
Novelist Ethan Holtz is having a hard time sinking his teeth into his next project, but he finds Addie fascinating. Mainly for her ability to make her dates disappear in fifteen minutes or less. He can’t help but eavesdrop on her dates in the local coffee shop, his writing haven, and soon finds himself taking pointers on what not to do from her failed suitors.
Though her methods seem nothing short of mad, he falls fast and hard for the pixie-haired pie-pusher. She thinks they’re all wrong for each other, but Ethan teams up with the tea leaves to prove they’re so right.

I’ve had a wonderful, rejuvenating week, my friends. I truly needed it. Life threw another curveball my way last week. I won’t go into too much detail, but suffice it to say, I’m single again. And I’m…good with that. I am. It’s been difficult trying to process everything, but now that I’ve had time to mull things over, I know it’s for the best. My family and friends have pulled together once again to help me through the rough patches, and you lovely people are always in my corner too. Hey, love the new digs. Ethan’s work ethic sounds similar to mine- heavily driven by the promise of treats! I love the premise of this story; it sounds like a lot of fun.
So sorry about your new singlehood, but painful as these things are, they’re usually a blessing in disguise. Still, it would be nice if life would give you a break sometime soon! *hugs*

What is it that they say? Something about writing being a battle with the blank page, and sometimes the page wins. Poor guy.
