Gooooood morning, my friends, and happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks! I’m so thankful for all of you and this weekly hop we have! Steeped in Love officially releases this week! Here’s another little taste before you gulp it all down in one drop! đ
Continuing from where we left off…
Well, thatâs an odd thing to say. Whatâs she looking for? The meaning of life? The perfect ratio of honey to lemon in her teaâ
âHowâs the writing going, Ethan?â
He flinched, startled to find Gwen hovering over him with a knowing smile on her face. âFine,â he muttered.
Her soft hum proved sheâd seen the blank page he failed to minimize fast enough. âHope your hands donât cramp up,â she teased, then sauntered back behind the counter to cash someone out.
Ethan missed those daysâwhen his fingers could barely keep pace with the words flowing from his brain.
Hereâs the blurb:
Addie Mitchell is a pie-on-the-fly entrepreneur whoâs finally ready to settle down in the big, empty house her late great-aunt Edna left to her. Frustrated with her lack of success in romance, Addie turns to another gift her great-aunt passed on to herâthe art of reading tea leavesâto aid her in her search for the ideal mate.Â
Novelist Ethan Holtz is having a hard time sinking his teeth into his next project, but he finds Addie fascinating. Mainly for her ability to make her dates disappear in fifteen minutes or less. He canât help but eavesdrop on her dates in the local coffee shop, his writing haven, and soon finds himself taking pointers on what not to do from her failed suitors.
Though her methods seem nothing short of mad, he falls fast and hard for the pixie-haired pie-pusher. She thinks theyâre all wrong for each other, but Ethan teams up with the tea leaves to prove theyâre so right.
Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!
As I mentioned last week, my book baby is currently up for pre-order and will be bursting onto the scene (and screens) on October 10th! I’m still waiting for Amazon to approve the print version, but that should be available early this week, too! Tell your friends, tell your families, your doctors, your dentists, your mail deliverers! To get a copy of your own, visit Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and/or iTunes!
Have a wonderful week, and happy writing! đ
Man, oh man, can I identify with this scene today. The horror of having outside stresses that shut off the well of words. Loving this story, as always and eagerly awaiting release day!
Please let me know when the print copy is available. Eagerly awaiting a delicious read from you. Best always, dear friend.
Yessss, the writing’s going FINE when the page is totally blank LOL. A very relatable scene! Enjoyed the snippet, best wishes with the boo’s release.
As the king of blank pages, I vociferously differ with the other commenters who denigrate the value of a blank page.
Aww, nothing more adorable than a book baby! Can’t wait until I’ve got the new arrival safe in my arms!
Ha! I like her quip about every writer’s life. đ
