Buckle up your seatbelts, boys, ’cause I am back out there! I’ve reentered the dating arena! As most of you know, my ten-month relationship with a certain fella ended back in the summer. I went through my wallowing phase and lived on ice cream for a couple days, but I soon realized that it was for the best. He was wonderful in many ways, but he wasn’t the one.

I spent the rest of my summer enjoying my singlehood. Doing the things that made me happy. Travelling, spending time with family, playing sports, eating more ice cream (just because I wanted to), and hanging with my girlfriends. Now that we’re into fall, I feel ready to begin my journey again. Plus, I have so many cute fall outfits! It’s all about the outfits, right?

This past Saturday, I broke my hiatus from men and went on a dinner/play date. Like, to an actual play, not a playground. Either one would work for me, though. It turned out being a really great date, from start to finish. He (I’m gonna call him Showboat) is an old-fashioned kind of guy, which I totally dig, and he insisted on picking me up, he paid for our dinner (we shared pulled pork fajitas which were delish!), and he bought our tickets to the play in advance. A couple of his friends were starring in the show and he was excited to support them. The play was called Boeing-Boeing, and OMG, you guys! It was hysterical! I don’t remember ever laughing so hard during a show.

Did I mention Showboat is also an actor/singer? As it turned out, he’d done some acting at that very theatre we were in, and since he was buddy-buddies with some of the peeps on stage, we were given permission to meet them in the ‘green room’ after for some schmoozing. How cool is that?! I tried to say something brilliant or witty to all the actors. “You wore that stewardess outfit like you owned it!” “When you lifted those suitcases, I really believed there was something inside them!” “You were such a cad! But I laughed and laughed at your philandering ways!” Somehow I hadn’t worn out my welcome yet, and the director invited us backstage to tour the sets. Again, so friggin’ cool! I stood on the stage and imagined hundreds of people watching me, and I knew then and there I had to make it happen. I’ve always wanted to be in a musical. Maybe now’s the time to make that dream a reality! 🙂

All in all, it was a fabulous date. It even ended with a little kissy-kissy in the car-car. We’re in the process of planning our second date, and, big shocker, it’s gonna be karaoke-themed! I’m ridiculously jazzed about singing with this guy because I know for a fact he can carry a tune. In the meantime, I’m chatting with some other guys, including one who’s half Spanish and huge into soccer *dreamy eyes*.

Part of me had been dreading revisiting the dating scene, but it’s really not so bad if you make the most of it. This time, I’m gonna be more selective about who I decide to date and when. I know in my gut that my guy is still out there–hey, it might even be Showboat–and I’ll keep wearing the cute outfits until I’m sure I’ve found him. Then, it’s back to sweatpants and PJs for this girl!

Advice and/or enthusiasm is always encouraged and appreciated, my lovelies! 🙂
