Top of the muffin to you, my friends! Happy to be with you again for a fun Sunday full of reading and writing! I’ll be sharing more added scenes from Steeped in Love in the coming weeks, so let’s get right back to it, shall we?

Continuing from where we left off….

Of course, Gwen happened by right then, her ears perked up. “Got yourself a copy of The Dispatch, huh?”

“I like to, uh…stay informed.”

“I see,” she said with a smug grin, “and I suppose you’re in the classifieds section to read more about that lawnmower Mr. Turcott has for sale, right?”

“Exactly.”

“Ya know, you’re kinda cute when you blush.”

It wasn’t the first time Gwen had made a flirtatious remark, and he never usually minded. After all, it was common knowledge that she was very much off the market. Her boyfriend would sometimes show up during her shifts decked out in his security guard uniform, and the two would disappear into the kitchen for several minutes. He couldn’t help but envy the guy’s guilty smiles when Gwen would return to the dining area with her lipstick smeared. Guess when you worked the hours she did, you couldn’t be too picky about your pecking locations.

Here’s the blurb:

Addie Mitchell is a pie-on-the-fly entrepreneur who’s finally ready to settle down in the big, empty house her late great-aunt Edna left to her. Frustrated with her lack of success in romance, Addie turns to another gift her great-aunt passed on to her—the art of reading tea leaves—to aid her in her search for the ideal mate.

Novelist Ethan Holtz is having a hard time sinking his teeth into his next project, but he finds Addie fascinating. Mainly for her ability to make her dates disappear in fifteen minutes or less. He can’t help but eavesdrop on her dates in the local coffee shop, his writing haven, and soon finds himself taking pointers on what not to do from her failed suitors.

Though her methods seem nothing short of mad, he falls fast and hard for the pixie-haired pie-pusher. She thinks they’re all wrong for each other, but Ethan teams up with the tea leaves to prove they’re so right.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

Last night I attended a board game/potluck party with some of my sporty friends, and it was a blasty-blast! I even controlled my competitive urges. Well, mostly. I only won one of the games, not both. I held back because I wanted to be invited to the next party. 😀 Good news, we were all still friends when we left our fabulous host’s home. Hey, have an awesome week, okay? 🙂
