118833-I-Love-Tea

Happy Almost-Halloween, my little ghouls and goblins! It’s currently 3:54 a.m. as I’m typing this, so please forgive me for any typos or craziness on account of all the candy I’ve consumed in the last twenty-four hours. Let’s get Steeped (in Love)!

Continuing from where we left off….

So far, two hopeful bachelors had agreed to her request for a meeting.

Addie lifted her gaze to find lucky bachelor number one, Jonathan, staring at her intently, like he was awaiting some kind of response. “Uh…yes?” When in doubt, ‘yes’ was the best answer.

“Sweet! We’ll have to try it sometime.”

Oh, Christ, what had she agreed to? “Sure, it’s…the perfect weather for…that.”

“I know, right? I’m so stoked you’re game.”

Here’s the blurb:

Addie Mitchell is a pie-on-the-fly entrepreneur who’s finally ready to settle down in the big, empty house her late great-aunt Edna left to her. Frustrated with her lack of success in romance, Addie turns to another gift her great-aunt passed on to her—the art of reading tea leaves—to aid her in her search for the ideal mate.

Novelist Ethan Holtz is having a hard time sinking his teeth into his next project, but he finds Addie fascinating. Mainly for her ability to make her dates disappear in fifteen minutes or less. He can’t help but eavesdrop on her dates in the local coffee shop, his writing haven, and soon finds himself taking pointers on what not to do from her failed suitors.

Though her methods seem nothing short of mad, he falls fast and hard for the pixie-haired pie-pusher. She thinks they’re all wrong for each other, but Ethan teams up with the tea leaves to prove they’re so right.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the other Weekend Writing Warriors!

I had a total blast Saturday night at the Musically Macabre Halloween Hootenanny I attended, which only just ended around 3 o’clock this morning. All attendees dressed up as musicians or in outfits inspired by songs. There were board games, endless amounts of food, loads of laughs, and KARAOKE! Let’s be real. I was 90% in this for the karaoke. It was SO MUCH FUN! And guess what else? My costume (Miley Cyrus in her outfit made famous on The Voice) was chosen as the best among all patrons at the Conroy Pub! I scored a cool beer mug stuffed with a t-shirt and all kinds of Halloween goodies. ‘Twas a fabulous night all around! And now it’s daytime so I should probably get a bit of shut-eye before the sun wakes up. Wishing you all a wickedly wonderful Halloween! 🙂

P.S. I’ll post pics on my blog this Wednesday, so stop by if you dare! Mwahahaha!
