118833-I-Love-Tea

Hiya, folks! Happy Sunday! It’s been a particularly happy weekend around these parts, but more on that shortly. For now, let’s jump back into Steeped in Love!

Continuing from where we left off. Gwen just asked Ethan for the scoop on bachelor number one, who’s sitting at a nearby table with Addie.

Ethan coughed and pointed to his idling laptop. “I wouldn’t know.”

“She has another date lined up this week, here again.”

“Will that somehow affect me? Do you plan on charging admission?”

“Just making conversation.”

“I’ll be sure to add it to my calendar,” he deadpanned.

“She’s been trying the online dating thing, even answered a few singles ads in The Daily Dispatch. That’s where she found this guy.”

Ethan rarely paid attention to the local newspaper–it was such rubbish, usually–but if Addie found it interesting….

Here’s the blurb:

Addie Mitchell is a pie-on-the-fly entrepreneur who’s finally ready to settle down in the big, empty house her late great-aunt Edna left to her. Frustrated with her lack of success in romance, Addie turns to another gift her great-aunt passed on to her—the art of reading tea leaves—to aid her in her search for the ideal mate.

Novelist Ethan Holtz is having a hard time sinking his teeth into his next project, but he finds Addie fascinating. Mainly for her ability to make her dates disappear in fifteen minutes or less. He can’t help but eavesdrop on her dates in the local coffee shop, his writing haven, and soon finds himself taking pointers on what not to do from her failed suitors.

Though her methods seem nothing short of mad, he falls fast and hard for the pixie-haired pie-pusher. She thinks they’re all wrong for each other, but Ethan teams up with the tea leaves to prove they’re so right.

So, about that happy-talk…I’m writing this post on Saturday night, but I can almost guarantee that by the time you read it, I’ll be eating cake. I’m eating it right now, too. Ya know why? ‘Cause it’s delicious, and ’cause there were birthdays to celebrate–my grandma’s (93) and my brother’s (36)! And the crazy birthday lady and gent let Dad and I take some cake home with us. I’m surprised it even made it out of the car, to be quite honest. We had such a fun day with the fam. The festivities kicked off at 10:30 am, we had all kinds of snacks (veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, fruit, cheesies, and chips) followed by an early lupper at one of those places with the all-you-can-eat breadsticks and salad, and then cake! Might be a few days before this sugar rush wears off. In the meantime, I wish all of you a wonderful week ahead! 🙂
